Little Claire Catch Up

Well today I have finally got round to putting all the Club project card pictures on for 2014 so far, on the blog.  I still need to up load the remaining pictures for 2013.

I seem to have been doing a lot of cards using the tag cards that Little Claire make.

I had some Kay & Co patterned paper that matched the swirls etc on the stamped images, so then using the patterned paper as a guide to the colourway for this card, this is what I came up with.  I love it, it has become one of my favourite and will not be given away.

I love these hedgehog image, they come in a 2 by 2 grid, but I have yet to use them like that.  I did a blue and brown theme for a blog challange, but then failed to get them up-loaded in time.  Note to self, take camera chip with you when you go to upload pictures.

I liked the blue one so much, I then went a did a pink for a friend for her birthday.  I also used the new sparkle self adhesive sheets that Little Claire now sell.

Dream Canvases

Back in January I attended a workshop run by Hels Sheridan, and in that workshop we created an 8 x 8 inch canvas, using Hels' word of 2014 'Dream'.

This is the canvas I completed at the workshop.

Now Hels is running a competition with the theme Dream, and I thought it was a great opportunity to create a complimentary canvas to the one I had already done.  So instead of a bright summery day and butterflies, I thought I would create an atmospheric evening and moths one.  To me these stamps from Hampton Art look more like moths than butterflies.

This is what I came up with.  I was really pleased with how the background came out, distress inks spritzed and allowed to run and mica spray (white pearl).  The moon is Poppy Stencils' white pearl paste with a little blue glitter paste mixed in.  The flower is a new one from imagination crafts, and the glitter paste used is from GlitzCraft - initially I inked through the stencil with black ink and them moved the stencil across slightly before applying the paste to get some shadow/dimension.  I also used a white pen to add some moonlight highlights to the bloom.  The Dream embellishment was on a sheet of shaped and wordy embellishments, but it was distressed brown in colour with orange gems.  So off came the gems, gesso'd and painted the word in black and added some gem stars.  The corners are craft metal cut with a Sue Wilson die.

March 2014

This card was originally made for the Craft Creations multiple stamping with a small stamp challange last month, but I never got round to submitting it.

It would have fitted in with Hels' challange for last week of bright colours but again I never got around to putting it on.

This week Hels' challange is sewing and stitching, so at the third attempt this card has been put on the web and linked to a challange!!!!!!

The background quilt has been created using Inky Doodles stamps. The bed stamp is from Little Claire. The cushion stamp is from Dimension Stamps (now Nina's crafts - possibly a discontinued stamp) and the letters are also from Inky Doodles stamps.

Challenge Card - Theme 'Diamonds'

Back in December at Craft Club the theme was Mask & Masquerade.  I took this stamp along but never got around to making a card with it.  Hels theme for her latest Sunday Stamper is Diamonds which makes me think of rings and harlequins.  So I dug the stamp out and made a card.

The background music paper is from a pack I got from Chocolate Baraque.  I inked through an Imagination Crafts Diamond stencil over the top of this.  The Music message was created using stamps from Clarity.  The Harlequin stamp is from Crimson Cloud.  I also dug out my fiskars punches and some of my prick and punch patterns that I have not used in a while.  The grey around the Harlequin image is stronger in the picture than it is in real life.  The Harlequin image was 'coloured in' by paper piecing.

Joanna Sheen Forum - Card Swap - Theme 'Dream Holiday'

Topper backgrounds created using alcohol inks and dabbing with the tool - all the stamps used are wood mounted.

Card Swap - Theme Bird Houses/Cages

I did a bird table!!  Card inspired by one I saw on a Sue Wilson show on the telly.

Liked the idea of the really off-centre topper.

Main image is from Clarity Stamp.

Joanna Sheen Card Swap Card - Theme House and Home

I made this card after I had been to a charity event at BJ Crafts near Kings Lynn.

I was pleased with my brick wall - Kraft Card Embossed with a brick effect stencil.  Coloured through the stencil with distress inks (Butterscotch, milled lavender, metallic brass and antiqued bronze).  Stencil removed and Imagination Craft Sparkle Mediumapplied with a brayer - great colour and texture effect.  Little Claire stamps used.  The embellishment is plated raffia.

NB Background paper picked first and then image coloured to tie in with it.

Female Birthday

Variation on a craft class project.  The same rose in two different sizes from Clarity Stamp, repeated stamped and masked, before being coloured in.  Large female head from Indigoblu - the face does not have that "checked" pattern over it.

For the girl who likes holidays in the sun sipping cocktails.  Stamps from a Dimension Stamps club project set.

Swap Card

Break out the glitter!  The Magnolia stamp is from Just Ink Lined and the background card is from a set of pattern card and paper that I have had for a while.  You get the same designs in plain version and an all over glittered version.

Male Birthday

A set of stamps from Tabby Kat that I have finally got round to using.

The background paper was created by ironing screwed up waxed paper onto ordinary paper and then inking over with a dye based ink pad.

Used something new on this card - the large bubble stencil from Clarity Stamp.  Inspired by something that I saw Barbara do with the same stencil and the gelli plate.  I did not use the gelli plate, I inked the stencil and "stamped" with it to created the stencil.  All the stamps used are from Clarity except the round birthday greeting stamp.

July

I did not take these pictures with my own camera and so ended up with dates on the images, a personal bug bear of mine.  The teenager these cards were made for are twins.  I like these images from Dimension Fourth (now Dimension stamps).  These stamps are being discontinued and were, last I looked in the sale/discount bin on that website.

June

Well I was able to satisfy the criteria for two swaps with this card.  The monthly Joanna Sheen Forum Card Swap (Theme butterflies or dragonflies) and a monthly private swap (theme make a card using this stamp).

The stamp is from Imagination Crafts.  Another tone on tone card.  The background paper panel is from Helidot - I like the small patterns you get in the packs of paper.  The packs come in different colours, but the patterns in the pack are the same whatever colour you choose.
