Chocolate Baroque - A Year of Stamping

Glenda at Chocolate Baroque has started a Year of Stamping Magazine of idea.  This is my January card inspired by the magazine.

I then went on to make this card

Stamped the image onto double sided sticky sheet.  "Painted" with gilding flakes behind the trees and used iced snow in front of the trees.  I love how by using a silver and other colour mix (winter dawn from Indigoblue) for the clouds it really looks like an autumnal scene with the leaves being blown off the trees.

Looking forward to the next project - tulips.

Joanna Sheen Card Swap Card - Theme House and Home

 

I made this card after I had been to a charity event at BJ Crafts near Kings Lynn.

 

I was pleased with my brick wall - Kraft Card Embossed with a brick effect stencil.  Coloured through the stencil with distress inks (Butterscotch, milled lavender, metallic brass and antiqued bronze).  Stencil removed and Imagination Craft Sparkle Mediumapplied with a brayer - great colour and texture effect.  Little Claire stamps used.  The embellishment is plated raffia.

 

NB Background paper picked first and then image coloured to tie in with it.

 

Female Birthday

 

Variation on a craft class project.  The same rose in two different sizes from Clarity Stamp, repeated stamped and masked, before being coloured in.  Large female head from Indigoblu - the face does not have that "checked" pattern over it.

 

 

 

For the girl who likes holidays in the sun sipping cocktails.  Stamps from a Dimension Stamps club project set.

These card were inspired by a card I had seen at the Indigo Blu New Premises Open Day.  Bird is from Indigo Blu.  Have proved very useful for male birthdays.

April Card Swap

The theme for the swap was create your own background paper. I made the blue handmade paper for the background about 2 years ago, recycling coloured paper handouts. The method was demonstrated on one of the TV craft programmes about the same time. General idea is to blitz the paper in an old liquidizer, mixed with water, then scoop out on a wire mesh, press between two nappy liners and then dry. The butterfly stamp and flower stamp is from Indigoblu and the background script is from the Marion Emberson range.
